Go visit SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE...a refreshing blog

Go check out Sunday Morning Coffee. Its a nice little blog that is not typical of the ones I have seen lately. She has filled it full of music and videos, pictures and some wonderful posts about our troops. She has also put in there a timeline of terror events that might put things in perspective for those who forget easily...

Refreshing!! My blog has been called many things but never refreshing--- until now-- so Thank you!

I adore your blog and I definitely have a blog crush on you... anyone that is associated with my favorite plane always gets to move to the front of the line.

You are now listed in my favorites sidebar... I hope you like the photo I chose. AC-130

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!

Well, I greatly appreciate your comments. I do have one very odd question. How on earth did the Herk become your favorite plane? To quote another blogger (and non-herk guy) "C-130 is Native American for 'Big, ugly, loud, uncomfortable bird that must be avoided at all costs."--I love that quote.

Oh, not to sound pompous or ungrateful :) But the picture you posted was most surly NOT an AC-130 and to herk fliers and maintenance…not even a true "herk" You posted a picture of a C-130J...but I agree, it is a cool picture

Thanks again Cathy,

Thanks for the correction on the picture-- that's me being lazy on a Sunday when I'm trying to impress... that'll teach me.

I'm not really sure why I love the cargo planes so much... I'm gonna have to guess it dates back to an airshow I went to in Dayton when I was a little girl...maybe 7 or 8 years old... We stayed late on Sunday and got to see all the static displays leave... I didn't think that those cargo planes could leave the ground without jets (like Fat Albert of Blue Angels fame--- JATO). Anyway... as they taxied down the runway... and back then since there wasn't any threat of terrorist attacks, they kept everything open and you could get relatively close to the active runway... in any event the guys waved to me... no one else did....That's probably why... dumb answer... but an answer none the less...

Besides... once those planes are up in the air... they are incredibly graceful to watch...

I grew up just a bike ride away from then NAS Miramar (Top Gun fame)in San Diego. They used to fly F-14s out of there back then and this was befor the F-18 ruined the Navy. I grew up with my head pointed to the sky. Always dreaming..and wondering what it was like to be them. My first job was at the small airport just down the street and every job since has had something to do with aviation. When my first round at college didn't go so well I thought I better get my butt in gear and the best place to do it was the Military..and because I knew there was a chance to fly. Well, long story short, my dream came true and it was on the best damn plane flying...I just wish I could still do it.

I will always love the Herk!

Thanks again Cathy
